Replying to @hrshd243 Throughout history, trans leaders like Virginia Prince, Sylvia Rivera, Monica Roberts, and Monica Helms advocated openly without passing privilege, creating foundations for today’s diverse gender expression. While fewer visibly trans people may be seen today due to earlier transitions—a medical advancement that trans-exclusionary radical feminists seek to abolish—the reality is that most people transitioning after puberty still don’t have passing privilege. The trans umbrella has always included non-binary and gender non-conforming people, whose existence today owes everything to earlier activists who challenged rigid gender binaries. This activism has expanded freedom far beyond the trans community itself, making it possible for masculine-presenting people to wear nail polish, for “Fembois” to exist as men who embrace femininity regardless of sexual orientation, and for gender expression to become increasingly fluid and diverse. Twenty-five years ago, living as a feminine man meant either transitioning or remaining closeted—there was no middle ground. Trans activism created the cultural space that now allows people of all genders to express themselves authentically without being forced into binary boxes. Meanwhile, trans-exclusionary radical feminists have increasingly allied with patriarchal conservative institutions—from WoLF’s collaboration with religious conservatives to Andrea Dworkin and Catharine MacKinnon’s work with Republican mayors. These alliances reveal that trans-exclusionary politics are fundamentally conservative, seeking to enforce rigid categories and police boundaries. Trans people continue doing the truly radical work of dismantling oppressive gender structures, expanding freedom for everyone, while those who oppose them align with the very patriarchal forces they claim to resist. #TransLiberationIsForEveryone #BreakingTheBinary #GenderFreedom #TransHistoryMatters #transgender
