Kathy is a journalism student and of course she needs to investigate all the strange happenings. The story gets deeper and deeper the more Kathy uncovers, I'm not quite sure if I understand everything but it draws you right in until more and more questions open than they are answered. And also the characters we get to meet are lovable but some only add to the mystery... There are some clever puzzles, especially during the beginning and again towards the end (suitcase, audio manipulation, the mausoleum!), and some need item combinations but mostly you need to talk your way through the game and find out new things and find out who to talk to about what. The graphics for both the characters and the backgrounds are beautiful, the backgrounds are either completely painted or some are probably collages that are painted over and then refined on a pixel level to make it fit the crisp pixel art of the character sprites. The character portraits are hand painted and blend right in and show a wide range of emotions the speaker is going through. All the animations are superbe, both of the characters walking and doing things and the things happening in the background and adding life to the scene. The music is cinematic as well, really fitting and not too distracting always setting the mood. Same for the sfx. Really well balanced and round. Also the game is fully voiced. Wadjet Eye were involved with this so it adds a lot. And I played it so that you can hear all the lines spoken by professional voiceactor. Really get into the game when you like oldschool pixelart point and clicks, it is even set in the 90s when those games had their heydays!
